Blockbuster LLC, known as Blockbuster Video, was an American franchise of video rental stores, specializing in renting movies and video games through physical stores, mail services, and video on demand.
The client needed to increase sales of NFL products in their stores during Super Bowl 50 and create an online engagement during the final game.
The proposed solution was to create a 2D video game in partnership with Lego®, where for every purchase of NFL® products and other snack brands in-store, customers would receive a code. This code could be used in the video game to help their team win matches. The game involved players selecting plays, advancing the ball, and scoring touchdowns. The player who accumulated the most points in the game would win a signed jersey from their favorite team.
